The Dream to be an Emcee

Growing up, I always have the dream of being an emcee / host. I always tell myself: "That would be me one day!"

All About Me

Hi everyone, I'm Chin Kar Marn (Katelyn) - your aspiring emcee to make your voices heard and make your event fabulous - that's a simple request (P/S: I'm a huge fan of Disney's High School Musical, so you might know where I improvised the tagline from).

I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia) since I was 18-months old. I used a pair of elbow crutches for support. Despite my disablity, I'm still your average person who loves do things that most of my peers do.

I graduated with a degree in BA (Hons) Communication, specialised in Corporate Communication from Sunway University (Class of August 2020, yes, the covid era graduate). I was a former intern of Star Media Group (The Star) under the Corporate Communication department, another personal intern with BFM 89.9's Evening Edition and a former Digital Communications UNV for UNDP in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.

Although I'm new to the emcee world, I will do the best to make your simple request into a fabulous one and make your voices heard!
